Three days of sailing, sunshine and perfect hospitality at PuntAla Camp & Resort
The Formula 18 National Regatta – the third leg of the national circuit – hosted by the Punta Ala Sailing Center closed yesterday with a splendid day of sailing. Twenty-two crews competed in ideal conditions for the entire duration of the event, providing three days of sport and entertainment on the blue waters of the Gulf of Follonica.
Weather conditions were favorable throughout the weekend, with beautiful sunny summer days providing the backdrop for the regatta. Only one race was sailed on Friday, with light westerly/southwesterly winds in the 6-8 knots range, then decreasing. Saturday provided a long and intense day on the water, thanks to a light but stable wind that allowed four races to be completed. Sunday was the grand finale: a fast and fun day, with a progressively strengthening sirocco around 10 knots and a few forming waves to enliven the scene – ideal conditions to close the event in the best possible way and ignite a few more challenges among the crews.
The final ranking confirmed the values in the field already highlighted in the first days, but there was no shortage of battles, especially between the first two crews-both from Centro Vela Dervio-who played for the top spot. trial after trial.

The awards ceremony, held in the late afternoon, celebrated winners and participants under the event tent of the PuntAla Camp & Resort, which once again confirmed its vocation for sports hospitality: sunset aperitifs, relaxing moments in the shade of the pine forest and beach volleyball matches, adding value and pleasure to each day experienced on the sea.
