Italian SUP Race and Paddleboard Championship - Leg4

The FIWS Italian National SUP Race and Paddleboard Championship ends in Punta Ala with the sixth and final round of the circuit: the Sparviero SUP Challenge – Memorial Sara D’Apolito. Now in its third edition, the event has changed its format while remaining deeply connected to the memory of Sara D’Apolito, an athlete and instructor at Centro Velico Punta Ala who passed away in 2021, celebrating her passion and energy.

Stand Up Paddle (SUP) is a discipline that combines balance, endurance, and technique, where the athlete moves while standing on a board using a paddle. Alongside the SUP Race – which includes Sprint, Technical, and Long Distance races – the event also features Paddleboard, a version in which athletes paddle while lying down without a paddle.

What makes this event truly unique is the Long Distance course: when sea conditions allow, the race takes athletes around the Isolotto dello Sparviero, a small island that has become a symbol of the Gulf of Follonica and of the event itself. All of this takes place in the stunning setting of the private beach at PuntAla Camp & Resort, directly facing Elba Island.
