The Windsurfer Class European Championship, an Olympic sailing class since 1981, is an annual sports competition recognized by the International Sailing Federation. The event has strong international appeal, bringing together new talents and legends who have shaped the history of windsurfing. This competition fully embraces the original spirit of windsurfing: a unique mix of passion, inclusivity, and pure fun, kept alive throughout its over 55 years of history. It’s not just a sporting challenge—it’s a celebration of the free spirit and energy that define windsurfing, a versatile, thrilling, and always unpredictable discipline.
The event format includes the main disciplines of the Windsurfer Class: race, slalom, and freestyle. Each discipline showcases a different aspect of this sport, blending technique, speed, and creativity. Freestyle, in particular, delivers moments of great spectacle, with athletes pushing the limits through acrobatic and dynamic maneuvers.

During the summer months (April/October), there is a regular afternoon thermal breeze, which makes sailing pleasant and enjoyable.
The sea surface is never too rough and allows good sailing even in strong winds, protected from strong currents and big waves.
