FireBall Italian Championship 2026
September 10 – 13, 2026
Punta Ala (GR) Italy
The Fireball is a historic high-performance two-seater dinghy. Born in the 1960s, it has established itself over time as a fast, technical, and still very relevant boat, capable of expressing its full potential especially in carrying and planing gaits.
The free choice of rigging, as opposed to strict class rules on sizes and materials, has over the years rewarded and enabled increased racing performance in all sea and wind conditions, including the most extreme
The Italian Fireball Championship marks the return of the tricolor title to Punta Ala, where Centro Velico Punta Ala previously hosted the event in 2017. The best Italian crews will compete for the Italian Champion titles, in a major event for Italian light sailing.
An event that renews the bond between Punta Ala and this iconic sailing class, confirming itself as one of the most significant moments of the season for Italian Fireball.

During the summer months (April/October), there is a regular afternoon thermal breeze, which makes sailing pleasant and enjoyable.
The sea surface is never too rough and allows good sailing even in strong winds, protected from strong currents and big waves.
